Elected VIP Board Members
2022 Board of Directors
President – Amy Wainwright
Originally from a small town in western New York, Amy and her husband moved to Sanibel in 2006, an island that she had visited every year since 1972. In 2013, she earned her realtor’s license and joined VIP Realty, where she earned the title Rookie of the Year and became an Honor Society member. Amy has served on the board of directors for the Sanibel Community Association, Captiva Chapel by the Sea, Sanibel-Captiva Optimist Club, and Little Lake Murex Home Owners’ Association.
Past President –Ted Benjamin
A Realtor, Senior Real Estate Specialist and Sanibel Captiva Islands Specialist, he has been named VIP’s All Company Rookie of the Year and earned a place in VIP’s President’s Club. Additionally, Benjamin was the 2019 treasurer and 2021 President for the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors.
Director – Janka Varmuza
Janka and her family have lived on Sanibel since 2004. Born and raised in the former Czechoslovakia, she earned a BS in Human Resources and Economics and an MBA. Janka has always enjoyed being involved in real estate transactions, remodeling homes, and overseeing new construction for herself, family, and friends. She is involved in community service and volunteer work through her daughter’s school and church.
Director – Becky Mulka
A long-time island resident, she has over a decade of hospitality experience and business knowledge that are the perfect combination to guide and assist buyers and sellers. She gives back to the community in several ways including being an active member of Zonta, donating to SCCF (Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation), and volunteering for many other local non-profit organizations that benefit the island.
Director – Connie Walters
Growing up on Sanibel, she assists clients with finding their dream homes, condos and 1031 Exchange properties from the beginning of the process to after the closing.
